Leaked Images Reveal Asus-Built Xbox Handheld, Codenamed Project Kennan

A fresh wave of excitement has hit the gaming world as leaked photos unveil the upcoming Xbox-branded handheld console, developed by Asus and internally known as "Project Kennan."

Originally spotted in a filing with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and reported by Videocardz, the images showcase two variants of the anticipated device—one in the standard white finish and another in sleek black, the latter featuring a dedicated Xbox button positioned on the upper left.

This is the first substantial look at Microsoft’s next venture into handheld gaming, marking a collaboration with Asus that appears to be building off the success of the ROG Ally series. Insiders speculate that the official announcement will arrive during Microsoft’s annual June showcase, where the company is expected to share more technical details and gameplay capabilities.

The device's design resembles other popular handheld PCs, such as the Steam Deck. It includes dual analogue sticks, a screen in the center, a directional pad on one side, and ABXY face buttons on the other—emphasizing its potential as a serious contender in portable gaming.

According to Windows Central, internal testing is already underway at Microsoft’s U.S. headquarters, signaling that the reveal may be imminent.
